Attendance was good at the Eureka Springs rally, but if you were not there you were missed. Not only that, you missed lots of fun.

Jack Jackson and his crew outdid themselves and put on a great rally in spite of uncooperative weather. Special thanks to Wanderlust RV Park and their great group of Campground Hosts. They couldn't have been more gracious.

We were entertained and well fed. We especially enjoyed Taylor Bishop, age 7, daughter of one of our caterers who sang(after helping with the serving). She sang "I'm The Cute One" and she certainly is! She won the heart of every grandparent in attendance.

From Yea Ole Wagon Master

A strange kind of fever gripped most of our attending rally members. Not only did they look like Hillbilly's, they acted like Hillbilly's!
The Triple Jackson Eureka Springs Hillbilly Rally under the direction of General Jackson and his two Colonels, Jim and Tom, was a lively event. The weather was perfect on Wednesday but, Thursday, Friday and Saturday was less than desirable. Temperatures in the Iow 40's, overcast, drizzling rain and wind, wind and more wind! However, Sunday, the day we left, there was beautiful sun shine, no wind and temperature's in the 70's. We should have a talk with our Chaplain and see if he could arrange the weather to be halfway in between Eureka Springs and Tres Rios for future rallys.

Even though the weather was frightful, it did not discourage our Classics members. There was a constant flow of people congregating in the meeting hall. Some playing cards and dominoe's and others having very intelligent conversations about numerous subjects. The only time anyone got in a hurry was when they walked from their coach to the hall or vice-versa.

The fire pit for the Thursday night "Cook-yer-own" steaks dinner was located outside the hall under an open sided shed, which unfortunately, had to be closed up with tarps to keep the freezing cold air outside and all the smoke from the cooking inside. No gas masks were available, so people were running inside to start their steaks and then hurry back outside (hacking, teared eyed and coughing) to suck up some fresh cold air, then back inside again. Finally, all were able to enjoy their meal including great baked potatoes and all the other goodies.

Friday and Saturday night everyone enjoyed delicious catered meals. However the hall was determined to be a bit crowded for our group, so the clubs "engineering department" headed by our valiant president, decided to enclose the front porch of the hall with a plastic covering and therefore gain enough seating room for the group. Elaborate plans were made and the "Classic Core of Engineers" was called in and the construction began. To say the wind was strong would be an under statement. Every time the hard working crew installed six feet of plastic, the wind ripped off two feet. But diligence prevailed and the crew achieved success.

Saturday nights entertainment was provided by a bunch of singing, dancing and very boisterous Hillbilly Classians who made a dadburn fool of themselves. Imagine a group playing banjo's and guitars made of toilet seats.

No amount of words can express our appreciation for the "silent crew" that played a large part in making this rally successful, our Classic Ladies. The better half of the Jackson's - Betty, Shed, Jennie and Erlene Baker plus so many other gals I don't have room to print their names. Even though they are not ladies and probably not even better halves, Art Owens and Ray Baker made sure we had coffee, juice and donuts every morning.

What else can be said, We had a good rally!
